Chicago born rapper and producer Kanye West was spotted this past Friday (January 11) at the Los Angeles Lakers versus New York Knicks contest at Madison Square Garden. Kanye was decked out casually in a grey zip front hoodie, white t-shirt, black leather pants and a pair of black Air Jordan 6s and, of course, the requisite pair of high end sunglasses befitting of a superstar of ‘Ye’s stature.
Yeezy attended the game with architect and business partner Virgil Abloh, who too was fashionably sharp in all black and sporting a pair of the Jordans as well and while it’s not known who the pair rooted for, Kobe Bryant and the Lakers handily defeated the Amar’e Stoudemire led Knicks 113 to 96.
Kanye West is currently enjoying a banner 2011 with an upcoming collaborative LP Watch The Throne with Jay-Z and reported summer release of his own. Never one to rest on his laurels, the jet setting and always busy Mr. West has also ventured into the realm of acting. An upcoming short film serving dual time as an advertisement for Kobe Bryant’s Nike shoe line features Kanye in the role of a villainous boss attempting to rob the basketball star of his coveted sneakers, the Nike Zoom Kobe VI. Bryant revealed in a recent interview that a phone call he placed to Kanye landed the rapper in the short directed by Hollywood director Robert Rodriquez.
The rapper is also set to perform as a headlining act for the now sold out Coachella music festival in April.
