Drake, J.Cole Perform In New York + Photo Gallery

Drake and J.Cole, those guys, they've got a thing going on.

In November, the two upstart — and highly-coveted — MCs collaborated on their first track together, "In The Morning," from Cole’s newest mixtape Friday Night Lights.

Now, Drizzy and the North Carolina rhymer have been criss-crossing the continent, appearing at Cole's tour stops in Toronto and New York City over the weekend.

It took Jay-Z and Nas years to connect like this, where the artists gushed over each other and delivered praise to a peer.

"I really, really, really like J. Cole," Drake told us over the summer. "His rhyme structures, the concepts, there's a little bit of pain in his raps. It's music, man. It's deep music."

Cole was equally effusive over the Thank Me Later star.

"At his status right now, he's the most talked-about guy in the game," he said to us earlier this year.

There are cases of superstar talent collaborating early in their careers, from Biggie and Hov to Esco and AZ.

Even Lil Wayne, who’s still pretty young, and Drake, who are planning on recording a collaborative effort.

But with all of the hype surrounding the Toronto lyricist and North Carolina's golden boy, it begs the question, could they connect for a joint album?

"[Cole is] a kid who is trying to draw you into his world and I think that's what it takes in rap right now," Drake said of his new partner in rhyme. "You can't just be the generic, [like,] 'Oh, I rap great,' but have nothing to say. J. Cole's really trying to draw people into his world and I respect that a lot because that's my goal, period."
