T.I. Sentenced To Prison, Fans And Friends React

By Alvin Blanco

The judge has made his ruling and platinum-selling MC T.I. will be serving an 11 month sentence for violating his parole. The response to his sentence from fans and his peers was swift, via Twitter. Sentiments ranged from anger and the judge not being lenient enough to words that amounted to 'He got what he deserved' to commentary that the sentence was yet another slap on the wrist.

Shade 45 Radio personality was succinct when hearing of the judges sentence.

"That sucks!!! 11 months for T.I.," tweeted @angelayee.

A number of fans including @TheRealKelz began tweeting simply: FREE @Tip

Others, like @MahoganyPoet were less enthusiastic.

"The first mofo I see with a Free #TIP shirt on I'ma slap. How about Free #AsstaShakur #MumiaAbuJamal #TroyDavis other than that #SitYoAssDown," she declared.

Houston rapper Slim Thug thinks Tip got a raw deal.

"And why y'all saying rich niggas got it easier?" he asked. "If T.I. wasn't T.I. they wouldn't be tryna make a example out of him?"

Slim Thug also made sure to shout out his other incarcerated rapper homies too.

"But that's my Potna I hate to see him on lock #freeTI #freeboosie #freelilwayne #free everybody I know," he said via this @slimthugga account.

Comedian Lil Duval had stoic rather than humorous commentary for his friend's plight.

"T.I. was my friend b4 he was famous and he gon be my friend after," @lilduval said. "The things he does hurts him more than it hurts his fans"

DJ Drama was also supportive and also relayed happier news.

"Hold ya head Tip, ya peoples still got u tho... We all make mistakes," he tweeted via @DJDRAMA. "In positive news... Alicia gave birth 2 a baby boy. Congrats to them."

Former "106&Park" host Free sent a shout out to T.I.'s wife Tiny.

"CNN reports that T.I. was just sentenced to 11 months by the judge. @TinyMajorMama keep ur head up ma!" @missfree tweeted.

The latest 140 character message from T.I.'s official twitter account, @tip, was a link to his blog which premiered the rapper's latest single, "Get Back Up," featuring Chris Brown.

T.I.'s seventh album King Uncaged does not have a release date.
