Jay-Z's 'The Hits Collection Volume 1' Coming In November

Looks like in addition to new Kanye West, Nicki Minaj and Lloyd Banks, we'll be getting some Hov for Thanksgiving too.

Without warning, the recent Universal Music Group book lists Jay-Z's The Hits Collection Volume 1 as part of their collection of November releases. The best of album is scheduled for November 23, along with Nicki's Pink Friday, Lloyd Banks' The Hunger for More 2 and Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, which is set hits stores on November 22.

The Jay-Z album will be available as a regular CD and on vinyl, as well as a Deluxe Edition Package and a Collector's Edition Box set.

The Deluxe will be a two-disc set that will include five unreleased songs and a 32-page mini book embossed with Hov's signature "diamond." The Collector's Edition will come in a hardcover box containing two-disc set with five unreleased songs and a 100-page coffee table book filled with never-before-seen photographs of Jay-Z and his friends.

Coming off his highly-successful Home & Home tour with Eminem, Jay-Z got a shout out from our recent "RapFix Live" guest that even we didn't expect. You have to love that surprise rap nerd swag.

"One day, somebody came up to me and was like, 'Yo, Hov is in the cafeteria,' " Busta Rhymes told MTV News' Sway during "RapFix Live." "They weren't calling him Hov at the time; they were calling him Jay. 'Do you want to step to him on some rhyme sh--?' So I go. At the time, when we were rhyming, it was speed rap. That was the thing to do. I knew how to freak it, and he knew how to freak it. And at the time, he was so ill, 'cause of the people he was with at the time, Jaz-O and them, it was their thing [that style]. He kind of got the best of the situation. I got to give it up. He was so ill and his arsenal was so long that he had more than what I did. I spit my one rap, and my tank was empty real fast. He came with two or three after that, and I was like, 'Here we go.' But I gave it my best."

Because the announcement of this LP seems a bit susty, we hit Def Jam to see if this release is indeed on the way. We got no response, so maybe take this whole article with a grain of salt?
