After several months of rumor, Pusha T confirmed during RapFix Live's VMA post-show that he'd indeed signed with Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music label.
"[I'm] definitely signed to G.O.O.D. Music," Pusha told Sway. "[I'm] definitely doing my project through G.O.O.D. Music."
So what does this mean for the other half of the sibling group The Clipse? And is it a good idea?
On one hand, this could be Pusha's moment in the spotlight. He's announced that he's releasing his first solo mixtape "The Fear of God" on September 14 via Ye's label, the same day as Kanye's new upcoming LP hits shelves. However we've always liked our Virginia dopeboys pair as a team, but Pusha tried to quell our fears during his chat with Sway last night.
"The Clipse is definitely coming with a new project," said Pusha T. "[We're] definitely coming with a new Re-Up Gang project, shout out to Ab-Liva! The family’s still here it’s just all about G.O.O.D. Music."
One positive to come from this announcement could be a possible Malice solo mixtape, and maybe the guys could put out a double-sided disc mimicking Outkast's "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below" album where fans got to see which MC had a hankering for 808 bass lines and who fancied scratch breaks in their songs. On the scarier side, Pusha could spend so much time working on his solo career that he neglects what made us love him in the first place, his spot spitting rhymes beside his brother Malice.
The Moonmen have all been handed out and the stars have gone home, but there's plenty of 2010 MTV Video Music Awards news, interviews, behind-the-scenes scoop, party reports and more still to come, so keep it locked on MTVNews.com.
