For rapper B.o.B, yesterday he fulfilled the first part of his many VMA requirements. The rising MC is slated to perform the hit record “Airplanes” alongside the track's featured singer Hayley Williams for the first time as just one of many tasks he’s taken on for the evening.
After months of hanging around various top 10 radio charts B.o.B got his wish yesterday when he met the Paramore singer for the first time in person since the song was created.
“We finally met for the first time,” B.o.B said, displaying his signature smile after giving Hayley a big hug. “Hopefully, I don’t mess up.”
"I'm gonna trip and fall," Williams said about the big performance. "Catch me, please!"
Meeting Williams was just the second item on B.o.B’s checklist after the must-see performer received A’s all around the board for his knock-out rehearsal. Now, his attention shifts to snagging one of the five nominations he’s up for. B.o.B is nominated for Best Collaboration, Best Male Video, Best Hip-Hop Video, Best Pop Video and the highly coveted Video of the Year award.
Following the show B.o.B will take center stage for the official ‘RapFix Live’ VMA post-show taking place outside of the Nokia Theatre immediately following the VMAs. B.o.B is just one of many hip-hop alums expected to turn out for the post-show hosted by MTV News correspondent Sway.
The 27th annual MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles tonight. The party starts with MTV News' VMA Pre-Show at 8 p.m., followed by the main event at 9 p.m. ET.
