It doesn’t take rocket science to know that late-night host Chelsea Handler has a passion for hip-hop artists and their aggressive raps. Over the past few months, some of hip-hop’s ambassadors from 50 Cent to T.I. to Fat Joe have appeared on the sexy siren's show, each walking away with a memorable moment.
Raising her hip-hop stock, this coming Sunday, Handler will have the honors of hosting the 27th MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles at the Staples Center, brushing shoulders with a number of hip-hop artists expected to show up for the event.
This year's hip-hop categories are looking to arguably be as competitive as ever, considering the crop of talent. While Handler says she doesn’t possess the chops to predict who will walk away with a Moonman she did weigh in on another category in regards to three of rap’s key players.
Hit the jump to see what she had to say.
Eminem (8 nominations, performing)
"Almost every one of the people you’re going to mention has slapped me on the ass at one point or another. I’m just saying, on my show when they come on, that’s what they do. It’s kind of like that thing for black rappers to do when they come on. White rappers, not so much. Eminem’s never been on my show, so I don’t know what he’s capable of. I would assume that it would probably be worse than what they’ve done to me. He’s from Detroit. It’s pretty intense."
Kanye West (0 nominations, performing)
"Being with sexually? Not Kanye. I mean not if he’s gonna wear those glasses. I don’t know if sexually."
Swizz Beatz (1 nomination)
"I like Swizz Beatz just because I wanna be like, I would like to yell out in bed, ‘Swizz Beatz! Keep it coming!’ No, I don’t want him to cheat on [Alicia Keys]. Um, don’t worry, Alicia. I got your back, girl."
