Soulja Boy The Poet?

Soujla Boy Tell 'Em isn't the most lyrical rapper out, but the multi-platinum artist is endeavoring to improve his skills.

He's gone on record saying he wants to get better and he's revisited material by Jay-Z and Tupac Shakur in hopes of learning from some of the greats.

But is that just savvy marketing talk? Or does the 20-year-old "Pretty Boy Swag" rapper really mean it?

Well, according to him, he's been experimenting in the studio, to the point that he even attempted a spoken work-type of delivery.

Hit the jump, though, to find out why that record won't see the light of day anytime soon.

"I got this one song that I did and I don’t think the world is ready for that one, yet,” SB explained. “I did it and I listened to it and it brought out a lot of emotion. It was full of emotion but I don’t know. If I put that out, people may be like, What’s wrong with Soulja Boy? Cause it was an experimental type of song, because it was something I never tired before. It was on a completely different beat, like, the beat was way different. It was like a free-flowing poetry song. I might put it out when I turn 21 or something like that. Because right now if I put it out, I don’t know. [Laughs.]"
