Quote (Unquote): Southern Culture on the Skids' Rick Miller

"We needed to make a record that was fun to make. We had just gotten done

touring for a year and a half on the road straight

for Dirt Track Date. And the success that we had with that was

amazing, but we surely didn't want to just finish touring and make another

record just like it. So we holed up during the winter and did some

different stuff. Like that end track, the long, long meandering thing.

That was a hell of a lot of fun. We experimented with some drum loops and

just started layering all kinds of guitar stuff on. We did a lot of that

in our basement." -- Rick Miller, Southern Culture on the Skids guitarist on the

band's lighthearted, experimental approach to 1997's Plastic Seat

Sweat.
