Yesterday we showed how the Oculus Rift can put one in the cockpit of classic console gaming fare. And today is an example of it placing you in the cockpit of one the most famous spacecraft of all time, in one of the most famous movie scenes of all time.
As Rocker Paper Shotgun has already pointed out, it’s shocking that its taken this long for someone to create a Death Star trench run simulator via the VR headset. Then again, it took way longer than anyone expected for a motion based lightsaber simulator for the Wii:
It’s a bit on the slow side, and also clearly incomplete, but still awesome nonetheless. If Disney was interested in making some serious money… and we all know that they are… they’ll make something that’s very close and official.
