Stallone vs. De Niro As Washed Up Boxers, Doing Mo-Cap For A Video Game

As video games continue to become an ever-present part of our everyday lives, it makes sense for them to become increasingly visible in movies. Not necessarily as the focus, but just as plot points.

As is the case with "Grudge Match," starring Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro.

Both men play over the hill boxers who retired before having the much desired tie breaking grudge match. But when they decide to lend their fighting skills in a video game, in the form of a motion capture session, it's their first chance to see each other in 30 years.

And as it turns out, there's still plenty of bad blood amongst each other:

Movies starring actors who are now old guys that are built around them being old guys is become increasingly popular, so the presence of "what the kids are into", i.e. video games, simply accentuates the total package. Add in the modern miracle that is viral videos and you have a movie that speaks to both you and old. Supposedly.

At the very least, it's a chance for folks you and I to see how well Hollywood's take on the fake video game they've prodiuced, and that's always fun. Hopefully it's more convincing that seeing Stallone as a down and out boxer (again), yet one who can still afford plastic surgery.
