For those who haven't heard, new Harry Potter movies are on the way, or at least a spinoff film series. The first in the series will be Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, based upon the text book that all Hogwarts first years have to acquire.
And will there be a video game based upon it? You bet there will.
According to Deadline, even though Fantastic Beasts is way early in production, with no director attached as of yet (though there is a screenwriter, the creator of Harry Potter herself, J.K. Rowling), Warner Bros has already announced that tie-in games are also on the way.
The movie, and presumably the game as well, will take place 70 years before the events of the very first Harry Potter book/movie, and in New York. It will also star Newt Scamander, the fictitious author of the fictitious book.
Now, even though the last Harry Potter book came out in 2007, and the last movie in 2011, there has still been a steady stream of Harry Potter games, with 2012s Harry Potter Kinect being the most recent example. So perhaps news of an eventual Fantastic Beasts game is no big deal.
Though it's at least to know that we can look forward to games that will star different characters. Not that Daniel Radcliffe doesn't deserve more money, but he's 24 now and he's getting a tad bit old for those voice-acting duties.
