Nintendo Announces 'Pokémon the Movie Genesect and the Legend Awakened'

It's MewTwo vs. a prehistoric creature in the feature-length "Pokémon the Movie Genesect and the Legend Awakened," making its debut next month on Cartoon Network, along with a preview of the new series, "Pokémon the Series: XY."

Based on the trailer, "Genesect and the Legend Awakened" plays like a disaster film, featuring the Red Genesect attempting to smash and destroy pretty much everything for some reason or other.

Here's what Nintendo had to say about the film:

Five Genesect have invaded the big city and threaten its power supply, attracting the attention of the Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo, whose motives are unknown. Ash, Pikachu, and friends must come to the rescue when the Genesect’s powerful leader, Red Genesect, confronts Mewtwo! The movie features the Mega-Evolved form of Mewtwo, Mega Mewtwo, which appears for the first time in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y.

"Pokémon the Movie Genesect and the Legend Awakened" will have its U.S. premiere on October 19th on Cartoon Network, one week after the release of "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" for the 3DS.
