Retail Listing Hints At 'Castlevania: Mirror of Fate' For PS3 and Xbox 360

The response to the 2D sequel "Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate" was somewhat mixed--could an HD version on current-gen consoles give this game a second chance?

AllGamesBeta spotted a listing over on Play-Asia for "Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - The Collection." The update includes 2010's "Castlevania: Lords of Shadow" bundled along with its two DLC expansions, as well as an HD version of "Mirror of Fate," and a demo for next year's sequel, "Lords of Shadow 2."

"Mirror of Fate" was released back in March, bridging the events between "Lords of Shadow" and its sequel and even providing an origin for white-haired vampire Alucard as two generations of Belmonts attempt to confront Dracula in his castle. While the combat and story were fine (we didn't learn too much more about what Dracula's been up to post-"Lords of Shadow"), "Mirror of Fate" wasn't quite the Metroidvania game that fans of the franchise were expecting, offering only brief moments of exploration in its two-character campaign.
