Once upon a time, Japan was the be-all and end-all of game development, but things have changed considerably. Consoles nowadays are overflowing with quality software from the US, Europe, and parts elsewhere, from both major publishers and indie developers.
It would seem that the best that the east has to offer is usually found on the smaller screen, on handhelds. And Sony is highlighting this fact with a brad new sale going on right now for the Vita.
The two week long sale began yesterday and runs until the 26th. Everything is divided up into two separate helpings.
Week one includes Atelier Totori Plus, Gravity Rush, Guilty Gear Accent XX Core + R, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus, Ridge Racer, Silent Hill Book of Memories, Soul Sacrifice, Street Fighter X Tekken, and Touch My Katamari.
It's worth noting that Book of Memories was actually developed in America, but it's publisher is Japanese and most people recognize it as a Japanese property. Also, Gravity Rush is totally free, provided you're a PlayStation Plus member.
Week two includes Dead or Alive 5 Plus, Dynasty Warriors Next, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, Muramasa Rebirth, New Little Kings Story, Ragnarok Odyssey, Super Monkey Ball, and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3.
To compare their original asking price and what they're going for during the sale, head on over to Siliconera. You'll noticed that the discounts are fairly deep, especially if you're part of Plus.
