As noted yesterday, the parent company of Atlus is not doing so hot, but at least the part that produces their biggest cash cow at the moment is doing fine. Which is why they're no doubt hoping that the upcoming Persona 3 animated flick does well at the box office.
"Persona 3 The Movie #1: Spring of Rebirth" is its full name and sees Atlus giving P3 some much needed love and attention, according to its fans, after spending much of last year focused upon P4. Which benefited with its own anime series (later stitched together to form a theatrically released movie as well), a re-release of the original game for the Vita (with plenty of extras baked in), and a fighting game off shoot (from the makers of Guilty Gear and BlazBlue).
As P3 diehards can tell from the trailer, the movie appears to follow in the footsteps of its source material quite closely. One of the main problems with the P4 anime adaptation was that it perhaps played it a bit too safe, so hopefully the same won't happen here. Though one clear difference is the animation quality; it's absolutely gorgeous (Persona 4: The Animation's was okay, just nothing to write home about):
Persona 3 The Movie #1: Spring of Rebirth comes out in Japan on November 23, 2013.
