Side note: Steam kinda sounds like a “Mortal Kombat” kharacter, right? Like maybe a hot headed cousing of Sub-Zero. Anyways, announced in late May, Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios have resurrected 2011’s supernatural brawler reboot for PC players — including all the kool DLC.
Jason seemed to have a ball with 9th round of the ultra-violent fighter, praising it’s reconstructed mythology, tight controls, and bonus kontent unlocked in the infamous Krypt. While, I’m not the most skilled player I have had a hankering to get back into the fighting fold after checking out NetherRealm’s latest take on superpowered battles with “Injustice: God Among Us“. So I’ve been messing around with the PC version for a little bit.
NetherRealm has done an admirable job with the PC port. Offering a few basic graphic settings, you should find “Mortal Kombat” looking better than ever — even with a mid range PC. The game runs buttery smooth with a steady 60 fps, which is of the highest importance for fighters even topped out at ultra. As per usual for older titles, newcomers will get the full “Mortal Kombat” package with all the DLC characters, Skarlet, Rain, Kenshi, and for some reason Freddy Krueger. Yep, the spiritual living nightmare has been transplanted from the dreamscape and dumped squarely in the Netherworld. Also, you’ll have a bevy of new skins and outfits as well as a few Klassic Finishing Moves. Like I said earlier, I’ve only had a few hours with the game but it’s already looking like the definitive MK experience.
“Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition” is available now on Steam for $29.99.
