Ubisoft provides a history lesson about the origins of high-seas banditry in the 18th century with this heavily romanticized new trailer for "Assassins Creed 4.
It's a well-produced trailer, but it falls into that gross thing that crops up in fiction about pirates being the last bastion of freedom in a troubled era. Most of the time (as now), they were just poor, uneducated these who were good at living on a ship and bad at living anywhere else (and that's if they weren't kidnapped from elsewhere to replace those who fell from murder and disease).
Anyway, that's the backdrop for "Assassins Creed 4" and your upcoming piratical adventures this October when the game comes to the PC, PS3, Wii U, and Xbox 360 with a next-gen version hitting the PS4 sometime afterwards.
