It’s Green Lantern Hal Jordan vs. Yellow Lantern Hal Jordan as Netherrealm lets more of their “Injustice” plot come out.
If it wasn’t clear enough, “Injustice: Gods Among Us” will involve a clash between “our” version of the DC Universe and one that’s filled with power-hungry and corrupt “heroes” led by Superman. Added to this mix is a Yellow Lantern version of Hal Jordan; whereas the Green Lanterns gather their power from the force of their own will, Yellow Lanterns gain their power from the fear they instill in others. The whole color spectrum thing starts to get weirder the further on you go with red standing for “rage,” purple is “love,” orange is “greed,” and indigo… I’m not going to bother to look it up, but it’s dumb. Most recently, the color scheme was disrupted a little with the addition of Black Lanterns (death) and White Lanterns (life) but who knows how much of that survived DC’s reboot a couple of years back.
The inclusion of Yellow Lantern Hal would explain why we haven’t seen longtime GL villain and leader of the Yellow Lanterns Sinestro in the game same far.
“Injustice” will be available on the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U on April 16.
