EA Dates ‘SimCity’ For The Mac, Offers Free PC Cross-purchase In June

EA’s city-building game may have had a rocky launch, but at least you can get it on more platforms.

In the announcement, the publisher confirmed that “SimCity” would be available through their Origin download service and in a physical disc starting June 11 for the Mac. Gamers who buy the Mac version will be able to download a PC version as well. And not leaving early adopters on the PC out in the cold, if you’ve purchased that version of the game, you’ll be entitled to a Mac download when they’re available.

The detail that’s most intriguing to me is cross-buy will allow you to access your cities across platforms–I just like that persistence of the content more than anything else.

Anyway, you can look for “SimCity” on the Mac June 11 and the PC version is available now.
