Just Let The Nostalgia Take You: Capcom Is Developing A 'DuckTales' Remake

During PAX East, Capcom announced that they have enlisted Wayforward to develop a remaster of the beloved NES platformer as "DuckTales Remastered."

And it's coming to consoles this summer for the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U.

Developer Wayforward knows their stuff when it comes to 2D games which evoke the 8 and 16-bit eras. Their 2D "Bloodrayne" game was the first time in a long time that anyone thought about that license without rolling their eyes, and their recent "Adventure Time" platformer/RPG nails the tone and feel of the show (even if some of the actual gameplay ends up being kind of repetitive).

According to Joystiq, the remake will include hand-drawn sprites and will be priced at around $15 across each platform. Over at the Capcom-Unity blog, the surviving voice cast is being reunited for the remake, but no word on if you can switch the original soundtrack on and off.
