Superman-killer 'Doomsday' Joins 'Injustice' Roster Along With TV's 'Arrow'

The bone-shouldered monster is the latest fighter to join "Injustice," plus CW actor Stephen Amell's version of Green Arrow from the series "Arrow" will be unlockable in the upcoming Netherrealm game.

Amell's likeness and voice will be featured in the April release, although Netherrealm hasn't said how his character will be unlocked in the game.

Doomsday, meanwhile, is the big new addition to the game, a wordless brawler who back in the 90's put Superman in the ground during the "Death of Superman" storyline. While he's since become a symbol for a lot of what was wrong during the speculative age of comics (a polywrapped, multi-print death comic with huge media attention and a thin narrative) the core concept of a being created expressly for the killing of Superman is an interesting one. To my mind, the most interesting aspect of the character--amended in later appearances after he and Superman both cheated death--is that Doomsday evolves each time he's killed to be able to withstand the last thing that killed him.

"Injustice: Gods Among Us" will be coming to the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U on April 16.
