‘Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition’ Heading To Retail In April

In conjunction with the release of Skin Pack 4, Microsoft has revealed that Mojang’s chart-topping downloadable game “Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition” will soon be on disc at retail for $20. The hope is that this version grabs the attention of gamers who don’t connect to Xbox Live.

The game has sold over 5 million units across Xbox Live, and the retail copy of the game includes all of the same features and content included in the current downloadable version, and will support all of the new additions coming soon in the ninth update to the game.

According to Microsoft’s PlayXBLA, “The retail game will be exactly the same as the digital version in every way, including support for multiplayer connectivity between the retail game and the digital download, and the retail disc version will receive all the same content and feature updates as the digital version ongoing.”

The “Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition” retail disc will hit stores in the US on April 30th. It’s also heading to Australia, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, Singapore, and Taiwan in June.
