Microtransactions Coming to ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops II’

Want to see your favorite  “Black Ops II” weapons coated in bacon? Soon you’ll be able to, as Activision has revealed new in-game purchases, dubbed “Micro Items,” that will be available in “Black Ops II” for Xbox 360 beginning tomorrow, March 13th.

First up are the new Personalization Packs, each of which includes a unique weapon camo, three targeting reticles (one each for the Reflex, EO Tech, and ACOG) and a custom calling card. The Bacon Personalization Pack (below) is the only pack that’s been revealed so far, and it will set players back 160 MS Points.

There’s also an Extra Slots Pack that will deliver 10 more create-a-class slots and let players archive 20 more emblems, 32 more films and 40 more screenshots for 160 MS Points. On top of that, the Flags of the Word Calling Card Packs will offer national flag-themed Calling Cards for 80 MS Points each. The packs are split up by region.

Those of you looking to finally get in on some Nuketown action will be happy to know that the multiplayer map is getting wide availability as a free download, and Nuketown Zombies will come to the general player population for 400 MS points.

The new in-game purchases are set to come to PS3 and PC at some point, but no details have been revealed.

What are your thoughts on microtransactions coming to COD?
