Willem Dafoe Makes 'Beyond: Two Souls' A Whole Lot More Interesting

The "Spider-Man" actor gets mo-capped as the Nathan Dawkins for Quantic Dream's upcoming supernatural action-adventure game.

The talented Dafoe is one of those actors whose participation in a project doesn't necessarily mean that the film/show/whatever will be good, but that Dafoe will be fascinating to watch in it. I can't recall the guy ever sleepwalking his way through a part, grabbing onto it with both hands while rarely chewing it to bits.

This is is second major mo-cap job following last year's "John Carter," where he played the four-armed Tars Tarkas. Here, he'll be playing a paranormal investigator and mentor to Ellen Page's haunted character Jodi with his own agenda about how she should be using her powers.

Sony released this slightly longer clip of Dawkins' first interaction with Jodi here:

It seems weirdly venal to put the Academy Award-nominated actor Dafoe up next to the Gamestop bonuses and such that Sony has lined up for "Beyond: Two Souls," but there it is.

The publisher of the PS3-exclusive announced that if you preorder "Beyond: Two Souls" from GameStop, it'll net you a playable 30-minute scene in the game and an upgrade to the special edition of "Beyond" which includes:

  • Exclusive Steelbook Premium Packaging
  • Extensive Behind The Scenes Video Features
  • Soundtrack
  • PS3 Dynamic Theme
  • PSN Avatar Bundle

"Beyond: Two Souls" is dated for October 8 and will only be available on the PS3.
