RPG Fans: NIS Bringing Three To The U.S. This Year Including More 'Disgaea'

Sorry, I'm (a couple of days) late to the party on this one, but new RPG announcements have been in limited supply lately and it's nice to share three JRPGs getting a releases here in the U.S.

During their annual press event in San Francisco last week, anime and game publisher NIS announced that the strategy RPG "Disgaea D2: A Brighter Soul" is on the way for the PS3 this fall along with "Time and Eternity" and "The Guided Fate Paradox."

Developed by NIS' parent company, Nippon Ichi, "Disgaea D2" brings back characters Laharl, Etna, and Flonne in an Netherworld-set story where Overlord Laharl quests to gain the respect of the demons in residence. This one features an update to the grid-based combat system of the series along with a revamped character creation system.

"Time and Eternity," which is being published through Namco Bandai, has a mystery component where as a mortally wounded knight in a fantasy kingdom, the player must travel back in time to solve their own murder. The game's art is entirely hand drawn (although the in-game visuals are much nicer than the bland style used in the cutscenes). "Time and Eternity" is on the way this summer.

Finally, there's "The Guided Fate Paradox," a spiritual successor to the 2010 PSP roguelike "Z.H.P. Unlosing Ranger Vs. Darkdeath Evilman." The story puts players in the role of a high school student who becomes a god after winning a lottery, and must trudge through the randomly-generated 3D dungeons of Copy World in order to affect change in Original World. This one's a looker too, sporting artwork from "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya's" Noizi Ito.

You can check out trailers for all three games below.
