Nintendo Will Return To Gamescom In 2013

Nintendo may have skipped Gamescom last year to concentrate on its own promotional events, but the company has confirmed that it will be attending the world’s largest video game convention this year, which takes place in Cologne, Germany August 21-25.

“The next chapter of gamescom is being written and once again promises the best in entertainment,” said Gamescom Project Manager Tim Endres. “Nintendo’s return is an absolute highlight for our community, exhibitors and trade visitors from around the world. We are also in very promising talks with other key players in the industry with regard to gamescom 2013.”

Microsoft also bailed last year, and there’s no official word on whether or not they’ll be attending this year. However, Microsoft’s major competitor in the gaming space, Sony, will almost certainly be in attendance (possibly with a new console), so Microsoft would be wise to show up this time.

Other publishers confirmed for Gamescom 2013 include Bethesda, EA, Konami, Warner Bros., Wargaming and Deep Silver.
