If you’ve got twenty dollars in your pocket, you could do a few things: you could pop some tags at the the thrift shop down the road, or you could pre-order Gaijin Games’ “Bit.Trip Presents … Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien” (henceforth known as “Runner2”).
If you’d like to opt for the latter, Gaijin have helpfully set up a Game Music Bundle that includes soundtracks for each “Bit.Trip” game to date: “Beat,” “Core,” “Void,” “Runner,” “Fate,” and “Flux.” The bundle is pay-what-you-want, with a minimum payment of $1 for the six soundtracks.
A tenner will net you all of that plus a pre-release copy of the “Runner2” soundtrack, while a crisp Andrew Jackson will net you a Steam key for the PC, Mac, and Linux versions of the upcoming rhythm-platformer.
High-spending contributors to the “Bit.Trip” Lovers’ Bundle will also receive special prizes: the top contributor will receive a Commander Video maquette figurine; the top five will snag a “Runner2” poster; and the top ten get a “Bit.Trip” T-shirt. If you’ve got money stored away in, say, a Mason jar in the freezer, now’s the time to dig it out: the the bundle will only be available until the 21st.
“Bit.Trip Presents … Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien” will be available on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, Wii U, and TI-89 calculator later this spring, with a Steam on February 26.
