If You Vote For The LEGO ‘FTL’ Set, It May Become A Reality

LEGO’s crowdsourced site for new set ideas, Cuusoo, has opened up voting for a set based on “FTL: Faster Than Light,” Subset Games’ fiendishly-addictive rogue-like for the PC. Even if you’re not familiar with “FTL,” one of the best titles of 2012, you might be impressed with some of the proposed sets being built for the campaign.

The way Cuusoo works is that with enough digital signatures–preferably somewhere north of 10,000–the LEGO overlords will deign to grant fans the boon of making sets based on the game into the real world. That was the case last year during the campaign for “Minecraft.”

The page (which you can vote on here) has reached over 1,000 supporters as of this writing, and the campaign organizers have responded with a poll for the next ship to be built. Currently, sets featuring the stock Kestrel ship from the game (complete with custom decals) is accompanied by Engi stealth cruisers, Mantis figures (they will mess you us, those mantises), and human, slug and Rockman species figures.

If you want to support the campaign, you have until March 4th to LEGO that you’re interested in your own, imperiled wee people.
