Redbox Instant By Verizon Headed To Xbox 360

Ready for another way to watch movies and TV shows on your Xbox 360? Well, Redbox Instant will soon provide Microsoft's console with just that. In fact, beta participants will be able to try out the Xbox 360 app in "the coming days" before it's released to the rest of the community.

Redbox instant has two different subscription models – $9/month for Blu-ray and $8/month for DVDs. Each subscription option combines 4 one-night-rental credits that can be used at any Redbox kiosk and “a great catalogue of popular movies available for unlimited streaming.” Users will also be able to rent and purchase movies directly through the app without a subscription.

No exact time frame for the app's availability on Xbox has been revealed, but according to Major Nelson, we should be seeing it in the "very near future." If you want to sign up for the beta, you'll need to head over to and submit your email address.
