New 3D Mario And Mario Kart For Wii U Will Be Playable At E3

During this morning's Nintendo Direct, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata revealed that a new 3D Mario game for Wii U is currently in development. It was also announced that a Wii U Mario Kart game is currently in the works, and both will be playable at this year's E3.

Details on the new 3D Mario and Mario Kart games are slim, but we do know that The Nintendo EAD Tokyo Software Development team that created "Super Mario Galaxy" games for Wii and "Super Mario 3D Land" for Nintendo 3DS is working on the new 3D Mario.

As far as Mario Kart goes, Nintendo really didn't have anything to share, other than the fact that it is indeed coming. Considering it's one of Nintendo's more successful franchises, we honestly already had our suspicions that a Mario Kart game was on the way, but it's nice to finally get the official word.
