‘SimCity’ Beta Opens January 25th, Apply Now!

EA announced today that the long-awaited “SimCity” beta will run from January 25th to January 28th. Folks who have already signed up are currently in consideration and there are still limited slots open for late applicants. However, you may want to get a move on, the application process ends on January 20th at 6pm PST.

“It is always an exciting moment to share a game that is still in development with its biggest fans prior to launch,” said Lucy Bradshaw, Senior Vice President and General Manager of EA’s Maxis Label. “This beta will help the team improve the live service aspects of SimCity to ensure a smooth and user-friendly experience at launch. I want to thank everyone for signing up – we are excited to share one of our most beloved franchises with our fans.”

The beta gives eager fans a chance to play a one-hour slice of the game. But don’t worry, EA say you’ll be able to play multiple times. As is the case with many beta tests, players will also be able to send feedback to the team at Maxis, describing their experience with the game.
