It's not too far-fetched to assume a related video game is on the way when LEGO announces new licenses. We've been graced with two LEGO Batman games representing the DC half of the LEGO Super Heroes line and now it looks like "LEGO Marvel Super Heroes" is finally on the way, for just about every platform.
The game's original storyline will see Nick Fury calling upon classic Marvel heroes like Iron Man, Thor, Spider-Man, the Hulk, Wolverine and many more to save Earth from the maniacal Loki and Galactus, Devourer of Worlds. As expected, it will all come together with LEGO and TT Games unique brand of humor.
'We’re very excited to bring a myriad of classic Marvel characters to life in LEGO form for some fun, family-friendly gameplay in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes," said Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games Publishing. "Players will brave the ultimate mission to save the world as they explore famous landmarks in LEGO New York and take the adventure beyond Earth to iconic locations in the Marvel Universe."
"Fans of both LEGO and Marvel have wanted this game for years, and we’re addressing that demand with more Marvel Universe characters than ever in a console game," said TQ Jefferson, Vice President, Games Production, Marvel Entertainment. "If you’re a fan of Spider-Man, the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy or scores of other Marvel characters, this is the game for you."
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is slated for a Fall 2013 release, and over 100 characters from the Marvel Universe will make an appearance. The game will be available for Xbox 360, Wii U, PS3, DS, 3DS, PS Vita and PC.
