It seems like we’ve been inundating you with posts about soundtracks over the last couple of days (probably because we have–yikes). And here’s another one: “Bioshock” composer Garry Schyman is back to compose the music for “Bioshock Infinite.”
Irrational Games’ Ken Levine announced Schyman’s involvement with the sequel during yesterday’s Reddit AMA. Per Levine, the Irrational team was happy to bring Schyman back for a third go at the series, saying “We’re proud to announce that Garry Schyman, composer of BioShock 1 and 2 has returned to the composer’s chair for BioShock Infinite. His score is very different from the first two games, yet very much guided by the same aesthetic principles. We were lucky to have him and I can’t wait until you get to hear some of his stuff. He’s working in a different, sparer style, but it’s awesome.”
2K Games’ PR helpfully reminded us this morning that the full soundtrack would be available to gamers who purchased either the Premium or Ultimate Songbird Editions of the shooter next year.
You can sample a snippet–a taste–of Schyman’s score in the video below:
