‘The Old Republic’ Heats Up With Hutts In First Expansion

As the MMO celebrates its first anniversary, BioWare has announced that in the spring of next year, players can expect the Force-resistant Hutts to make their first appearance in the game along with a new planet called Mekab with something mysterious that will have the Jedi and Sith fighting it out.

According to the press release, “The Rise of the Hutt Cartel” will be priced at $9.99 for subscribers and $19.99 for gamers playing “The Old Republic” for free, with early access granted on January 7th to anyone who preorders it between now and then. The expansion adds not only new story content but equipment, and a level 55 cap to the game.
