FIFA Ultimate Team Is Back Online, Hackers Banned, Exploits Closed

By Joseph Leray

EA Sports has brought FIFA 13’s Ultimate Team mode back online after pulling it down yesterday. In a post on the game’s forums, the studio explains that “earlier this week, a very small number of users attempted to gain an unfair advantage by manipulating coins,” prompting EA to pull the mode offline.

“To ensure a fair economy, for all our users we decided to take FUT offline in order to restore a level playing field,” the post continues. “We take issues like this very seriously. Permanent bans have been served to all users who attempted to gain an unfair advantage.”

It’s unclear whether these “manipulations” were done for profit or to gain an advantage in online competition, but it’s nice to see EA being swift and firm with regards to FIFA Ultimate Team, given the security issues posed by the feature in years past.
