Didn’t pick up Telltale’s five-part “The Walking Dead” during its digital release? Maybe your Internet connection isn’t great (or non-existent, in which case what manner of arcane ares are allowing you to read this?!).
In any event, the likely game of the year contender is headed to retail in the U.S. on December 11th. Plus, stars of “The Walking Dead” on AMC are confirmed for Terminal Reality’s FPS, “The Walking Dead; Survival Instinct.”
First up, let’s talk “The Walking Dead” we know. Setting you back $29.99 for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, you can get the entirety of Lee and Clementine’s story in one sitting without all of those pesky downloads. Or, if you’re interested in exploring the comic, there’s the limited edition through Gamestop (pictured above) for $69.99 for the 360 and PS3, featuring a softcover collection of the Robert Kirkman-written series with art by co-creators Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard.
Then there’s “Survival Instincts,” the prequel to the AMC TV series which was teased back in July. The shooter–with elements of stealth–will feature fan-favorite redneck and casual racist Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus, “Boondock Saints,” “Blade II”) and his brother Merle (Michael Rooker, “Lollipop Chainsaw,” “Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer”) as they battle their way through the zombie infested streets of Atlanta in the days following the outbreak. You might have enjoyed the smoky sounds of Rooker’s voice last month in “Black Ops II.”
From the press release:
In the game, players assume the role of the mysterious, crossbow-wielding survivor Daryl Dixon. This first-person survival title takes place within the universe of “The Walking Dead” and before the events of the AMC show, following Daryl and his brother Merle on a gruesome journey to reach the supposed safety of Atlanta as the world around them ends. Reedus and Rooker will bring life to their characters’ desperate, unforgiving struggle against limited resources, the nightmarish walkers and, perhaps, their fellow survivors…
