New Yorkers will be among the first in the world to purchase the Wii U console when the clock strikes midnight on November 18th at the Nintendo World Store in New York’s Rockefeller Plaza. Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime will be on deck to count down the launch and sell a brand-new Wii U to the first costumer in line. Fans will also have a shot at grabbing “premium items.”
The event kicks off at 6pm on Saturday, November 17th and runs all the way through to midnight, when the Wii U will officially launch the next generation of home consoles.
In addition, Nintendo will also be offering up New York-themed t-shirts with Mario’s image at the event. All proceeds from the Mario swag will be donated to the American Red Cross to support relief efforts related to Hurricane Sandy.
