It's A Bad Time To Take An Island Vacation In This 'Far Cry 3' Story Trailer

"Savages" might be a rough choice of words for a bunch of island inhabitants, but let's look past that. In this new story trailer for December's Far Cry 3, Ubisoft gives us a rundown on the story of unfortunate island vacationer Jason Brody whose trip to the Rook Islands ends up being less fun in the sun and more "kidnapped and tortured by pirates."

The trailers up to this point (this one included) have been pushing the idea that to survive, Jason will have to confront his own madness in a quasi-mystical journey of violence and murder. Based on everything revealed up to this point, it feels like a blend of Heart of Darkness and Alex Garland's novel The Beach, two stories that fit together better than you might think. I'm not hot on the milquetoast VO here, but that could just be me.

The action will be where it's at, and based on this clip, Ubisoft has some interesting plans on that front for gamers when Far Cry 3 is released later this winter.

Far Cry 3 will be available December 4th on the PC, 360, and PS3.
