Buy ‘Total Recall’ on Blu-ray, Get the ‘God of War: Ascension’ Demo

Want an early chance at the “God of War: Ascension” demo? Well, it’s going to cost you. Sony Santa Monica and Sony Home Entertainment recently revealed that they’ll be giving away the demo within specially marked copies of the Colin Farrell starring “Total Recall” remake when it hits shelves on December 18th.

According to the PlayStation Blog, gamers who purchase the Director’s Cut Total Recall Blu-ray and Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack will receive the God of War: Ascension Single Player demo. It’s the same demo that was shown off earlier this year at E3 2012, which introduces players to new gameplay mechanics and combat systems before the game launches in March 2013.

Something interesting that we noticed on the Blu-ray packaging that Sony revealed is a note reading, “Exclusive through 1/8/13,” which could indicate that an updated Ascension demo will be pushed to the PlayStation Network sometime around that date. It’s all speculation on our part, but it could be an option for those of who don’t plan on buying Total Recall.
