Surprise, surprise! Gearbox boss man Randy Pitchford took to the Twitter machine late last night to reveal the availability of some early DLC. That's right folks, everyone eager to get their hands on Borderlands 2's fifth playable character class can do so right now, as Gearbox has made Gaige the Mechromancer available a week ahead of schedule!
Last week we also got our first peek at Gaige the Mechromancer's Skill Tree thanks to Borderlands2.com. Like the other characters it sets her up with a slew of new deadly abilities. However, players are also able to upgrade the Mechromancer's robot counterpart Deathtrap with new abilities, including a giant freakin' laser beam that sweeps across the battlefield damaging everything in sight!
Folks who pre-ordered Borderlands 2 received Gaige for free as part of the Premiere Club, the rest of us will have to drop $9.99 to add her to our team. At the time of writing this, Gaige was already available on Xbox 360 and PC while some PS3 players were still waiting for her to show up. Either way, Gearbox has said the DLC should be available for "all platforms" by the end of the day.
Have you played as the new Mechromancer class yet? What do you think about Deathtrap? hit the comments and tell us everything!
