Live-Action Sonic the Hedgehog Fan Film Will Zoom Onto MAGFest 2013 Screens

Hey, wanna see a CG Sonic battle an evil live-action Dr. Robotnik? Then director Eddie Lebron and the Blue Core team have you covered in January when their Sonic the Hedgehog fan film will make its debut at Maryland's MAGFest gaming convention with an online premiere January 9th, 2013.

The not-for-profit 25-minute short is the latest fan project from Blue Core who back in 2010 produced a Mega Man fan film. This time out, they've brought actor Jaleel White onboard to voice the hedgehog almost 20 years after he played the role in the animated series.

According to the Blue Core Studios page, the short will serve as a prequel to the first game, with disparate elements drawn from throughout the series' canon across various media. Hopefully, none of these elements involve a semi-romantic relationship with a human princess, because that stuff was weird.
