Angry Birds has dominated the mobile gaming space since it was first released back in 2009. Since then it’s been downloaded millions of times across an array of mobile platforms and has even shown up on PC, set-top boxes and Samsung TVs. But today the Angry Birds are invading our living rooms in whole new way as Rovio and Activision have teamed up to deliver the Angry Birds Trilogy on Xbox 360, PS3 and 3DS!
Many gamers have brushed off the announcement, stating the release is overpriced coming in at $40. But to Rovio’s credit the games have been updated for their console debut. Most notable is the addition of Kinect and PS Move support. All three titles have also received “new graphics, updated for the big screen” and Rovio claims gamers can expect over 100 hours of gameplay, not to mention new, exclusive content.
The Angry Birds Trilogy brings together three of Rovio’s best-selling, avian-themed mobile games – Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, and the feature film tie-in, Angry Birds Rio. It’s unfortunate that Angry Birds Space isn’t making it into the retail offering, as the unique play style and physics would give the collection a little more gameplay diversity, but that will surely be in the next one… if that ever happens.
