Danger Close Games and EA today revealed that they will release a worldwide open multiplayer beta for Medal of Honor: Warfighter this October. The beta will apparently feature a brand new multiplayer mode called “HotSpot” and gives gamers a shot at Double XP when the actual game launches.
The new HotSpot mode will see players attack and defend randomly-selected locations on the Sarajevo Stadium map in Bosnia. According to EA, the mode is inspired by real-life military operations and players will team-up in pairs using the game’s unique co-op Fireteam system “for a competitive advantage on the battlefield.”
Another interesting piece of info coming out of the announcement: if the beta is downloaded by 3 million people EA will unlock a Linkin Park “Castle of Glass” music video early, rather than waiting until five days after the beta launches. The music video is the result of collaboration between members of Linkin Park and Danger Close Games, featuring live action footage mixed with gameplay from the new title.
There’s no firm launch date for the Medal of Honor: Warfighter multiplayer beta, but the game itself launches on October 23rd and beta access is set to begin in “early October” and it is exclusive to Xbox 360.
