'Call of Duty: Black Ops II' Confirmed For Wii U!

Nintendo confirmed the Wii U release date and pricing options this morning, but that may not have been the biggest news that came out of their special event in New York. Rumors suggested that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was in development for the Wii U back in June and Activision has thankfully confirmed those suspicions.

The Wii U version will play much like the version hitting Xbox 360 and PS3. With full HD graphics at 60 frames-per-second, it will be a “triple-A” Call of Duty experience. While most gamers will probably be using the Xbox 360-ish Pro Controller to get their Duty on, the GamePad does offer some interesting gameplay options, including the ability to call in killstreaks and view the mini-map from the touch-screen. However, the most exciting feature, in my opinion, has to do with split-screen. I have never enjoyed the split-screen multiplayer option in past Call of Duty titles – there just isn't enough screen space – but the GamePad changes things up by allowing one player to use only the GamePad, while the other plays on the TV as usual.

Activision says Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 for Wii U will include all of the same eSports features seen in the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, including the ability to spectate and commentate on live matches. There will also be support for Wii remote and Nunchuk controllers, so you'll have plenty of ways to play.

While no firm release date was revealed by Activision, they did imply that the title will be available shortly after the console's launch on November 18th.

So, here's the real question... Are you going to show your support for Nintendo's new endeavor by waiting it out and getting Black Ops 2 for Wii U? Or, will you be playing on a console you already have when the game launches on November 13th?
