'World of Warcraft' Movie Gets New Writer, Still No Director

Blood Diamond screenwriter Charles Leavitt is the latest to take a stab at putting the world of Azeroth into words that can then be seen on the big screen. It's unclear according to this Variety report

[Source(s): Variety via Gamespot] whether Leavitt will be joining or replacing Saving Private Ryan screenwriter Robert Rodat as the writer of note for the movie.

Now the search is on for a director for the film with Sam Raimi officially out. With Oz the Great and Powerful for Disney, Raimi only had time in his schedule for one big-budget, high-gloss fantasy movie apparently, so Legendary Pictures, the company producing World of Warcraft is likely still vetting people who can: (A) work with this kind of super-expensive, effects-laden project, (B) come on without increasing the budget a whole lot, (C) get the whole thing in on time and under-budget.

Might I suggest The Descent, Centurion, and recent Game of Thrones director Neill Marshall?

Your move, Legendary Pictures and Activision.
