Report: ‘Thief 4′ Sneaking Onto Next-Gen Consoles

It’s been a while since we last heard anything about the next entry in this stealth action series. Could it be because it’s coming to the next iterations of the Xbox and PlayStation?

According to a report from OXM UK, that’s precisely what’s going down.

In the “Gossip” section of the latest Official Xbox Magazine UK, the publication states that according to their sources, we can expect the long-in-development Thief 4 sometime next year alongside the next generation of consoles.

The latest from the storied stealth series has been knocking around for a while with very little in the way of official updates, although back in January, OXM did piece together some info about the it: for instance, it’s being developed using the Unreal Engine and will have some online features.

Unveiled all the way back in May of 2009, Thief 4 has mostly been radio-silent since the official announcement. Back in June, the Eidos Montreal studio manager Stephane D’Astous hoped that his team might be able to tell us a bit more about what to expect with Thief 4. So here’s looking at sooner rather than later.
