‘Persona 4′ Anime Blu-ray Release Loses Japanese Audio for U.S., Gets Price Drop

We brought you the full details on Section23 Films and Sentai Filmworks’ domestic release of the Aniplex-produced Persona 4 animated series. Well, the September releases is losing its Japanese voice track on Blu-ray while retaining both the Japanese and English audio for the DVD release thanks to a requirement from the Japanese licensor.

The change has led Sentai to drop the suggested retail price from $69.98 to $59.98.

The press release from Sentai specified that the DVD would retain the Japanese episode commentaries but didn’t specify whether this extended to the Blu-ray as well. I’ve followed up and will bring you any new info as it becomes available.

The 13-episode set will be available on September 18th.
