Ubisoft Enters the Arena With ‘Spartacus: Legends’

Do you like gladiator video games, Timmy?

The Starz TV series gets (appropriately enough) a fighting game from the big Ubi.

A trailer and story details after the jump.

As the TV series winds down (it’s entering its last season) under the pretty badass subtitle War of the Damned, Ubisoft has a fighting game based on the show on the way next year. How much of the sex, violence, and speed ramping of the show will make its way into the game remains to be seen, but the material and the genre are a good match at least.

Also, why haven’t gladiator games taken off in a big way?

You can find a synopsis for the game below.

Featuring thousands of ruthless weapon combinations and a robust skill system, Spartacus Legends delivers a variety of tools for gamers to customize their gladiators and dismember their foes. Gamers will be able to fight as Spartacus, Crixus or one of their own created gladiators as they battle with friends offline or in online multiplayer to join the ranks on the worldwide leaderboards.

Look for Spartacus: Legends sometime next year.
