‘Angry Birds Trilogy’ Coming to PS3, Xbox 360 and 3DS

We learned that Activision and Rovio had been working together to bring Angry Birds to consoles earlier this year at E3, but we didn’t know what exactly they had planned. However, in a recent interview Rovio’s Executive Vice President of Games Petri Järvilehto has revealed that the console will be the Angry Birds Trilogy.

The trilogy will bundle the original Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio and in a recent interview with IGN Järvilehto revealed that the title has been “built from the ground up” for HDTVs.

“You can think of the game as the ultimate collector’s edition,” Järvilehto told IGN. “There are new cinematics, extras and other entertaining content. In addition all of the existing material has been uprezzed and re-treated for the high-resolution and big screen.”

“The backgrounds have been animated, we’ve added lighting modes, reactive backgrounds, the list goes on and on,” he added. “We believe that there are a lot of people on the consoles who appreciate a great casual game play experience. This is a game that resonates across a wide audience on many platforms.”

There’s no word yet on whether or not the console versions of these game will come packed with all the bonus content they’ve received since their original release, but Järvilehto did reveal that there will be individual leaderboards for each level and the game will be compatible with Playstation Move, Kinect and even StreetPass on Nintendo 3DS.

The Angry Birds Trilogy will be available this holiday season, putting those gift cards to work.
